Pick of the Week: Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale

Friday, May 22, 2015

It's time to put your big girl pants on. Nordstrom is having their Half-Yearly Sale and you can save up to 40% through May 31. Now is the best time to buy the things that you have been stalking or simply find a few great deals.

I am obsessed with the rag & bone wool vest that is now 60% off—adding to cart. Don't forget to shop the Chelsea 28 sale because they have insane markdowns right now, including this tank ($25). Even Frame Denim is on sale and you do not want to miss this top (40% off).

Happy shopping,

Savannah Recap

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

A few weeks ago we took off to Savannah for a long weekend. It's a great spot for a three day trip since it's just under a four hour drive from Charlotte. It was my first time there and I don't think it'll be my last. Savannah is a walkable city with so much to see and explore. Here are a few of my favorite photos and places you can't miss when traveling to Savannah...
Be sure to take your time and stroll around Forsyth Park. The grounds are gorgeous and it's a perfect spot to sit for lunch and people watch. Also, just a short walk from Forsyth Park is Chippewa Square. This is where the famous bench scenes from Forest Gump were filmed.
There are more than enough great places to shop in Savannah (more on that below). One of my favorites is Harper. They have a killer selection of dresses and accessories—it's also in a perfect location.
The Riverwalk is more touristy, but still worth doing. We loved walking along the water and popping in and out of the shops.
We had an amazing weekend and if you haven't been, be sure to add Savannah to your list of cities to visit.

Bloggers Who Budget: Florals Under Fifty

Bloggers Who Budget
This month we are styling our favorite florals under fifty bucks. We all know that florals around this time of year are popular. No brainer. Now, let's talk about a few that are super affordable...

My top is from the Chelsea 28 line at Nordstrom. I'm a huge fan. I scored my top last year, but they have a few out there right now that you do not want to miss. For instance, how about this floral tank for $42? I also love this floral trapeze top for less than fifty bucks. You really can't go wrong with anything from this line.

My shoes are also on sale for fifty bucks and they are really comfortable. These drapey pants are a closet staple for me and guess what? They are also on sale for—you guessed it, less than $50. I can't make this stuff up.

Pick of the Week + Redbook Magazine Finalist

Friday, May 15, 2015

These Schutz Cadey Lee Sandals just got marked down over on Shopbop. Pretty timeless and definitely a pair that you can grab-and-go to wear with everything. Plan on wearing these to all your summer weddings, rolled up with boyfriend jeans in the fall or with a black jumpsuit (my favorite). By the way, I'm still on the hunt for a good jumpsuit. Have you found one? Oh, while you're over on the sandal sale page, these Splendid pair are now less than forty bucks.

In other exciting news, I am one of the finalists for Redbook Magazine's Real Women Style Awards 2015. I am nominated along with 24 other amazing women for the chance to be featured on the September cover.

Voting is open until May 22nd and it would be really cool if you could head over and vote for me.

I'll see you back on Monday for our monthly Bloggers Who Budget Collab. This month we are styling florals under $50, so don't miss it.

Suit Up

Bathing suits for summer

I started the process of bathing suit shopping for summer. Kinda painful, but necessary. My goal is to get rid of bathing suits that I'm not really into anymore and replace them before summer hits. There are so many cute suits right now over on J.Crew and many of them are on sale.

The Glamour Girl Hipster Bottoms fit great and aren't too teeny. I love the ruching on these—they run large so think about going down one size. The Tropical Fern Print Bikini is my favorite. The Side-Tie Bottoms are so cute and still offer a good amount of coverage. It also comes in a One Piece too. If you're looking for a one piece in a solid color, the Grey One Piece Halter is super chic. Mixing and matching is also a great option and you can find a killer selection of grey bikini bottoms over here. Pair one of those grey bikini bottoms with a colorful bikini top and you are ready to rock. Don't forget a cute cover-up.

Top: Sam Edelman ($35) (also here) / Pants: Nordstrom / Mules: Schutz (similar) / Clutch: Thrifted / Sunglasses: Gucci

Can you believe that this beaded tee is less than forty bucks? It's drapey, comfortable, and cool, which means I'll be wearing it all summer. Reminds me a little of this Stella McCartney stunner, but without the hefty price-tag. It runs big, so I would size down. Unless of course, you're ok with the occasional underarm/side flash, like me. Looks great with my favorite Chelsea 28 trousers or tucked in with denim shorts for everyday.

By the way, if you're looking for a good pair of denim boyfriend shorts that won't break the bank, check out this pair at Nordstrom. The fit on these is great and they aren't too short (they run large so size down one size).
