Rory Beca top (old) / Anthropologie maxi skirt (old, but love this one and the fit is similar) / Madewell Transport Tote / Madewell necklace / Poppy Style earrings c/o (sold out) / Gucci Cat Eye Sunglasses

This is what I wore for the majority of the day at The Southern Blogger Society Conference. I might as well go ahead and refer to this look as Tuck and Roll because that's literally all you have to do. I went with a printed Rory Beca top and my go to Anthropologie maxi skirt. Add a few accessories and it's an easy summer look that's comfortable and blogger conference appropriate. Boom.

Bloggers Who Budget White Out
This month's Bloggers Who Budget Collab is all about white on white. It's a great look for summer and easy to do especially if you are on a budget. We kept our favorite piece to $75 and under and under $150 for a head to toe all white look...

The Chelsea 28 line at Nordstrom is my go to for affordable and modern pieces. Both my top and skirt are Chelsea 28 and the price is always right. The white skirt (no longer available, but this one is even better and on sale) looks great with the Eyelet Cotton Shell. This white top is lightweight and looks great with everything from skirts to boyfriend jeans--it is beyond versatile. It's slightly cropped too if you want that look without baring midriff.

I especially love the buttons that run down the back of the top. Guys, it's on sale right now for $40. True to size. Go get it.

I kept the rest of the look pretty simple with this clutch (sold out, but also love this one), watch, and bracelet.

Ahh, the white blouse. It's an essential. Whether you like the classic style or a tuxedo shirt, it's one piece of clothing that needs to be in your closet. I've been on the hunt for one with a twist and after seeing this Rodin Shirt on Need Supply, I knew it was the one. This blouse has the ultimate menswear feel to it and the back button detailing is my favorite. It's perfectly oversized and super versatile to style a million different ways.

There's no doubt that a white button down looks perfect with jeans, but right now I really love the look of an oversized blouse with a skirt. I wore my white blouse over my favorite J.Crew fluted skirt (on major sale). It's an easy look to put together and looks pretty polished. Grab your favorite clutch and you are ready to roll. Mine is the Daphne Bag. Guys, it's currently on sale for $58 and how about that side handle detail? I can't even.

Best Beauty for Summer On-The-Go

best beauty for summer on the go, StyleList
Summer is in full swing, so it's important to have a solid beauty routine nailed down. If your summer includes trips to the beach or weekends spent out of town, having great skin and beauty essentials at your fingertips is key. In my book, the easier, the better. These four beauty products are my tried-and-true favorites for a beautiful summer.

Cetaphil and I go way back. Let's just say that the pre-teen skin years were not my best. In fact, for a very long time this was the only product I could use on my skin without breaking out. It is for that reason that I have a soft spot for their products and always go back to Cetaphil when I have a breakout or skin issue.

That being said, the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths are essential if you plan on spending any time outside or traveling this summer. These pre-moistened cloths are the best for removing makeup and dirt. They are super convenient and perfect for refreshing your face after a long day on the beach or being outside.

Generally speaking, I don't wear a ton of makeup and I tend to wear even less in the summer. However, no matter the season, a good pop of lip color is great--especially with a tan. I have tried so many lipsticks, stains and balms, but my favorite are the Tarte Lip Tints. Mine is the Tarte Power Pigment in Natural Beauty. These babies pack just the right amount of color without any nasty flaking. It's super easy to apply because it's pretty much an adult lip crayon. We can all do that.

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is the only hair product that I use in the summer. If you love the tousled beachy look (think Gisele) then this is for you. Just spritz on damp or dry hair and that's it. I can't promise your hair will look like hers, but you will get extra volume and texture without having to do much. It also comes in a baby travel size, which is perfect for sneaking sprays before you snap that selfie. Just kidding.

Last, but not least, the Intelligent Nutrients Anti-Aging Serum. This might just be my secret weapon. I started using this skin oil last year and haven't used anything else since. I balked at the "skin oil" thing at first thinking it would make my skin greasy or break out--it's done the complete opposite. I use this product nightly and it has evened out my skin tone and overall, my skin looks brighter. I take a small amount with me whenever I travel and it's especially good when my skin gets too much sun. Charleston Naturally is my go-to place for organic beauty and they carry Intelligent Nutrients galore.

Set Sail to Sanibel

Friday, July 18, 2014

set sail to sanibel, florida
In June I had the opportunity to sneak away to Sanibel, Florida to visit family. Sanibel is located just north of Naples on an expansive, beautiful white sand beach. It's known for its lush landscape, wildlife, and gorgeous shell beaches. Here are a few photos from my trip and believe it or not, I actually found that little turtle all on my own...

So many seashells by the seashore-- you know how that one goes. Seriously, the beaches are scattered with tons of beautiful shells. It's not a bad day strolling along the beach looking for your favorite one.

The sunsets aren't so bad either.

Sanibel is a great getaway spot for so many reasons. I especially love it because it's one of those places where you feel so far away. If you're looking for a low key destination with zero hustle and bustle, put Sanibel on your list. Best time to travel is early to late Spring and early Fall. The summers are super toasty with a chance of hurricane. No bueno.

Be sure to stop by on Monday because I'll be sharing my favorite summer beauty products on-the-go. It's quite the stellar collection of summer beauty, so do not miss it.
