Ahh, the white blouse. It's an essential. Whether you like the classic style or a tuxedo shirt, it's one piece of clothing that needs to be in your closet. I've been on the hunt for one with a twist and after seeing this Rodin Shirt on Need Supply, I knew it was the one. This blouse has the ultimate menswear feel to it and the back button detailing is my favorite. It's perfectly oversized and super versatile to style a million different ways.

There's no doubt that a white button down looks perfect with jeans, but right now I really love the look of an oversized blouse with a skirt. I wore my white blouse over my favorite J.Crew fluted skirt (on major sale). It's an easy look to put together and looks pretty polished. Grab your favorite clutch and you are ready to roll. Mine is the Daphne Bag. Guys, it's currently on sale for $58 and how about that side handle detail? I can't even.

You cannot go wrong having more than a few white button downs in your arsenal. I'm gonna go ahead and say, the more the better.

Best Beauty for Summer On-The-Go

Summer is in full swing, so it's important to have a solid beauty routine nailed down. If your summer includes trips to the beach or weekends spent out of town, having great skin and beauty essentials at your fingertips is key. In my book, the easier, the better. These four beauty products are my tried-and-true favorites for a beautiful summer.

Cetaphil and I go way back. Let's just say that the pre-teen skin years were not my best. In fact, for a very long time this was the only product I could use on my skin without breaking out. It is for that reason that I have a soft spot for their products and always go back to Cetaphil when I have a breakout or skin issue.

That being said, the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths are essential if you plan on spending any time outside or traveling this summer. These pre-moistened cloths are the best for removing makeup and dirt. They are super convenient and perfect for refreshing your face after a long day on the beach or being outside.

Generally speaking, I don't wear a ton of makeup and I tend to wear even less in the summer. However, no matter the season, a good pop of lip color is great--especially with a tan. I have tried so many lipsticks, stains and balms, but my favorite are the Tarte Lip Tints. Mine is the Tarte Power Pigment in Natural Beauty. These babies pack just the right amount of color without any nasty flaking. It's super easy to apply because it's pretty much an adult lip crayon. We can all do that.

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is the only hair product that I use in the summer. If you love the tousled beachy look (think Gisele) then this is for you. Just spritz on damp or dry hair and that's it. I can't promise your hair will look like hers, but you will get extra volume and texture without having to do much. It also comes in a baby travel size, which is perfect for sneaking sprays before you snap that selfie. Just kidding.

Last, but not least, the Intelligent Nutrients Anti-Aging Serum. This might just be my secret weapon. I started using this skin oil last year and haven't used anything else since. I balked at the "skin oil" thing at first thinking it would make my skin greasy or break out--it's done the complete opposite. I use this product nightly and it has evened out my skin tone and overall, my skin looks brighter. I take a small amount with me whenever I travel and it's especially good when my skin gets too much sun. Charleston Naturally is my go-to place for organic beauty and they carry Intelligent Nutrients galore.

Set Sail to Sanibel

set sail to sanibel, florida
In June I had the opportunity to sneak away to Sanibel, Florida to visit family. Sanibel is located just north of Naples on an expansive, beautiful white sand beach. It's known for its lush landscape, wildlife, and gorgeous shell beaches. Here are a few photos from my trip and believe it or not, I actually found that little turtle all on my own...

So many seashells by the seashore-- you know how that one goes. Seriously, the beaches are scattered with tons of beautiful shells. It's not a bad day strolling along the beach looking for your favorite one.

The sunsets aren't so bad either.

Sanibel is a great getaway spot for so many reasons. I especially love it because it's one of those places where you feel so far away. If you're looking for a low key destination with zero hustle and bustle, put Sanibel on your list. Best time to travel is early to late Spring and early Fall. The summers are super toasty with a chance of hurricane. No bueno.

Be sure to stop by on Monday because I'll be sharing my favorite summer beauty products on-the-go. It's quite the stellar collection of summer beauty, so do not miss it.

Southern Blog Society Conference Recap
I'm just getting settled back in after my trip with Chelsea to The Southern Blog Society Conference at The W Hotel-Buckhead in Atlanta. It was a busy weekend filled with brand networking and connecting with other Southern Bloggers. Here are a few snaps from the weekend and highlights of the event.
Southern Blog Society Conference Recap
Both of these ladies are from Charlotte and we spent the earlier part of the day on Saturday together. Although completely unplanned, Chelsea and I ended up being roommates all weekend and it was pretty awesome. What is not pictured in the photo above are Cortney's fabulous pink Kate Spade wedges. You can find them over on her blog along with this perfect summer shift dress.

ASOS was in the house and let me tell ya, they brought their A game. There were a plethora of floral frocks, bright structured tops, and killer accessories. On my radar are these Cat-Eye Sunglasses, Floral Skater Dress, Neon Heeled Sandals, and Blue Midi Skirt. You simply cannot beat ASOS for affordable, cutting edge fashion.

This was an absolutely beautiful lunch and the food... unreal. If you go, be sure to order the banana pudding for dessert. Or even for lunch.

Wrapping up the weekend at the Southern Living Magazine Pool Party with fellow Bloggers Who Budget babes Katie, Ashlyn, and Jess

The real highlight for me with any blog related trip is always meeting other bloggers. It's great to connect via social media, but real life trumps any online blog relationship.

The most influential speaker of the weekend was Amy Flurry who wrote Recipe for Press. She gave a no-nonsense talk on how to pitch your brand and get onto the pages of big time publications. Her book is sitting on my night stand as we speak.

It's hard to believe that this was just the 2nd SBS Conference ever. Shout out to Jess + Cathy for putting together a well organized and successful networking event. Oh, and the swag bags, insane. You guys will be seeing a lot of that loot on the blog very soon.
