Spring Dream Dresses

Wednesday, April 01, 2015

Let's take a midweek mental break and day dream a bit, shall we? Warm weather has finally arrived (at least in the South) and Spring dresses are everywhere. During my search to find a few favorites, I was completely distracted by all the new Spring dresses on Moda Operandi. Be warned, they carry the best of the best and it'll tempt you to drop rent money on an impossibly perfect Spring dress.

If money were no object, I'd be adding that Rosie Assoulin Halter Dress right into my cart. Everyone needs a to-die-for dress in their closet and this would be mine. From the vivid color to the backless detail, it's everything. It's almost sold out (not kidding), so hurry hurry if you're in love.

How about the Suno Silk Babydoll Dress? In. Sane. The embroidery is gorgeous and I cannot picture a more beautiful dress to wear out for a Spring evening. Or to Target. #whocares. Another one I cannot stop staring at is the MSGM Floral Silk Maxi. The dress exudes 1970's cool and the colors hit it right out of the park.

I love them all, but not likely pulling the trigger any time soon. I've also linked a bunch of beautiful dresses below that are much friendlier on the wallet. See you on Friday.

Early Spring weather is so strange. One day it's sunny and seventy-five and the next day it's back down into the fifties. I've given up trying to predict the weather and instead have been wearing my early Spring uniform: High waisted jeans, a classic oversized button-down, and floppy fedora.

I finally pulled the trigger on this Rag & Bone Floppy Fedora during a Shopbop sale and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. The shape of the hat is perfect (not too big) and the pecan color works with everything. We all know that a good oversized white button-down can never been underestimated. One of my favorite ways to wear one is tucked into a pair of dark, high-waisted jeans. If you're on the hunt for one, check out this one at Madewell and also these gorgeous Vince options. While you're at it, go get a visual on these Vince mules. I want them all.

Pick of the Week: Checkered Shirt Dress

Friday, March 27, 2015

How great is this dress? This Checkered Shirt Dress is over at Gap for $59.95. The vibes that I'm getting from this dress are cool girl at a polo match and/or girl-next-door who successfully reinvented her mother's vintage frock. Either way, it's working for me. I also love how they styled this dress with sneaks--laid back cool. While you're checking out the new arrivals at Gap, do not miss this V-Neck Linen Tee  or these Jogger Pants. So many solid, budget-friendly options right now that you do not want to miss.

I'll be back on Monday with an attempt at putting together a look for that awkward not-yet-warm, but Spring time of year.

Let's start Wednesday off with a round up of killer tribal print bags. A tribal print bag for Spring/Summer will instantly add a little punch to your warm weather look. These bags come in all shapes and sizes and you most definitely can find one that works for your budget. Let's discuss.

First, I have to mention the Mossimo Crossbody at Target. This budget bag is under $30 and perfect for doing errands (hands-free). I also adore the Embroidered Guatemalan Pouches at Furbish. These pouches are so versatile and the print on these is gorgeous. Be sure to check out the Star Mela line if you love tribal prints because they have an awesome selection of totes, bags, and clutches. My favorite is the Star Mela Cosmetic Case. Perfect to use for travel, as a clutch, or for stashing makeup. If you so happen to have a Spring getaway planned, be sure to pack one of these in your suitcase. Just leave room for me too.

Coat: ASOS (sold out) (also love this one) / Blouse: Topshop / Jeans: J.Crew / Clutch: Madewell (also love this) / Sunglasses: Gucci

I'll never get tired of wearing neutrals. If you took a peek inside my closet, you would find a rather numerous amount of grey, white, and beige. Until it starts to get really warm, I'm happiest in my muted colors and I'll just take advantage of this awesome red wall for a pop of color.

My white blouse is Topshop and it also comes in navy and black. The draping is killer and the fit on this top is really good. I typically go up one size in Topshop, but went down a size in this blouse. Go get this one. I know that no one wants to think about Winter, but it's the best time to snag a coat. Mine is sold out, but ASOS has so many coats on sale right now and it's definitely worth a look. I love the Car Coat and the Parka.
