Cartonnier blazer (Anthropologie), top is vintage, Anthropologie boots from last season (similar), Anthropologie Maxi skirt last season, Botkier Valentina Satchel, Michael Kors watch and vintage necklace
A few of you have reached out asking what I wore during IFB CON in NYC. If you follow me on twitter (@thepumpkinspot), you know that I created #whattowear specifically for IFB and New York Fashion Week. There were so many of us who went to IFB for the first time and were stressed over what to wear. Shout out to all the bloggers who participated and tweeted using the #whattowear hashtag!
Here's a recap of what I wore.
I decided to go with a long maxi skirt and blazer for Day 1 (shown above). I love flowy maxi dresses and long skirts, so I had to go with what I love and what feels like me. The Cartonnier blazer is perfect for layering and the light pink works with everything. I paired this with vintage jewelry and my new Nordstrom Anniversary Botkier satchel, which is turning out to be my favorite bag. Ever.
Madewell peplum top, James jeans (a few seasons ago), Anthro boots (same as previous pic), and vintage jewelry
I'm a Monster! This was out at the IFB CON after party sponsored by Monster at 60 Thompson. The Madewell peplum top is effortless and fits great. I adore the coral color and it has become one of my go-to tops for the end of summer/fall.
Madewell blouse, J.Crew pixie pants, Chanel pumps, vintage jewelry, and polish by Essie "Wicked" (my favorite)
This is my Day 2 conference attire. J. Crew pixie pants, you complete me. These are the greatest pants ever created for layering blouses and a perfect alternative to jeans while also a bit more refined. The Madewell top is perfect for tucking into jeans or over slim pants. I rock navy and black all the time and think it works just fine. Yes, the pumps are Chanel. Le sigh.
Cartonnier blazer from Anthropologie (two seasons ago) (similar) over Madewell blouse with boyfriend jeans (Banana Republic jeans from over 5 years ago) and Bensimons (not pictured)
This is why I love a good blazer. You can throw it over anything and it immediately looks put together. I kept my Madewell blouse on, added boyfriend jeans + the blazer, and my favorite bensimons and headed off to JFK.
All in all, I'm very happy with what I wore. I think its so easy to get caught up in what others are wearing and "Keeping up with the Joneses". You have to wear what represents you and your own personal style. I also owe Dave a huge thanks for helping me during the power packing session. I told you you would survive.
