Wedding Planning

Let the craziness commence.
I have to admit, I took some time off from wedding planning. I stared at the few wedding books I own and even picked them up a few times with the intention of reading, but did not. I think the break was for my own sanity, but now its time to get serious. This weekend I am home with an ever-growing "to-do" list, which includes but is not limited to:
~find an officiant
~meet the florist and decide on flower colors
~find a cake baker + cake taste (yesssssssss!)
~decide on hotels for guests (do we even have a final guest list?)
~possibly purchase wedding jewelry (these are perfect)

Now, the good news.
I found a dress!
I bought a gorgeous ivory + lace Jim Hjelm dress at this fabulous boutique. Obviously I can't post any pics yet, but I will as it gets closer to the wedding. I'm also super excited about my bridesmaid dresses. Remember this post on multi-colored bridesmaid dresses?
That is happening.
I'm doing six different dresses in similar shades of neutrals and metallics that look great together, but do not match. If you're wondering if I have anxiety about not going with typical bridesmaid dresses, the answer is yes. My fingers are crossed that it looks just as gorgeous in photos and on the big day as I have it pictured in my head.

In the end, all that matters is that we both show up, right?
(any reassurance or advice would be greatly appreciated)

Knowing you and your fab style, everything will look great! And yes, the only thing that matters is that you both are there and happy :]

So glad you found your dress and can't wait to see pictures! Have a fun weekend of planning and cake testing!

I am 100% behind the bridesmaids dresses and think you can definitely make it work! I'd just recommend being really good about communication if you're letting the girls pick them without you -- give them lots of verbal and visual examples of things you like and maybe have them text you before they buy. If you're all on the same page it'll look great! :)

Congrats on saying yes to the dress! Cannot wait to see photos. Love what you are doing with the bmaids dresses. Honestly, more people are going the nontraditional route these days. You see pics of it everywhere, aka SMP stalking. I did 6 different pastel colors but same dress and I was nervous but honestly ended up loving it on the girls.

Yes, as long as you show up you are good :) Happy weekend xo

I'm sure it will be beautiful! Where are you cake tasting? One of our favorite spots to taste was Luna Bakery. You got squares of different-flavored cake with frostings on the side to create your own combinations.
