Last week, I raced home from work to get ready for a night out with my fiance.
I wear scrubs to work, so there is zero option for me to transition a work look out for the night. I'm usually rushing around like a maniac trying to get ready on time and it just so happened it was one of those nights I couldn't find anything to wear. Bad combo.
That's when I decided to implement Plan B: Wear Black + White.
It always works.
When you can't find anything to wear, find your favorite black + white pieces and start putting a look together.
1. Start with a product you know you want to wear.
I'm obsessed with my Gap destructed sexy boyfriend jeans, so I set them aside.
2. Scan your closet for the black or white piece that works with your selected choice.
I went with this lace top that was hiding in the back of my closet. I love feminine tops with a roughed-up jean. My top is a few years old, but this Elysian lace top works perfectly too.
3. Time for the shoe.
I cannot resist a great black pump with a slim and tapered boyfriend jean. My J. Crew Everly suede pumps made their debut and they did not disappoint. I love 'em and I want them all. In every single color. They are on sale and if I could justify it, I would snag all the 8h mediums.
Just go for it!
You can basically rock anything with black and white. I chose a vintage grey clutch to break it up a little + added pops of gold jewelry.
This look is easy-to-do, classic and anything but boring.
What do you think? Do you have a go-to look when you are pinched for time??
