To say that we lucked out with the weather on our wedding day would be a huge understatement. We rolled the dice a bit and chose an outside ceremony and tented reception the first weekend of October in Wilmington, DE.

Location: Our location was the Greenville Country Club in Wilmington, DE. We both wanted an intimate setting where we could have both the reception and ceremony. The location is absolutely stunning and was exactly what we both wanted- elegant and relaxed.

Personal touches: Throughout the wedding planning process, our goal was to make sure that our wedding reflected us. Nothing too overworked or complicated with personal touches mixed into the entire event. We framed old wedding pictures of our parents, grandparents, and close family and had the photos placed on a piano in the front room of the country club. It was a great personal touch and so many guests loved looking at the old photos (myself included).

I've always had a thing for quotes and have been collecting them since I was in high school. Initially, I wanted to place one framed quote at every table, but that got to be too much. I ended up picking out a handful of my favorite quotes, had them framed, and scattered them throughout the reception area.

After wavering on the signature cocktail idea, we decided just to go for it last minute. We went with a moscow mule which really became one of our favorite cocktails after living in Cleveland for a year. We opted not to worry about having it in a copper mug and simply used a collins glass, which worked just fine. At the end of the night, we had a candy bar set up in the great room. It was fairly simple since we used glass containers the venue already had and just had to buy our candy. We filled the jars with M&Ms, sour patch kids, you name it, it was in there. Word on the street is that it was a big hit.

Vendors:
Flowers: I have to say that I was amazed how gorgeous the flowers were on our wedding day. We worked with Patty at Petals Flowers & Fine Gifts. She was amazing to work with and understood what we were looking for in terms of decor- elegant and natural. We wanted our wedding to feel like us and she did an unbelievable job. We also ended up going with the long bridal party table and if not for her, I probably would have just abandoned the idea all together.

Photographer: I've mentioned her before, but our photographer rocked the house. Amy at Amy Rebecca Photography brings so much energy and is the easiest person to work with. She was highly recommended by one of my bridesmaids and I'm so happy we went with her for our wedding. She is based out of Ohio, but she travels, so book early!

Band: We spent most of the night on the dance floor and the Janis Nowlan Band kept the party going all evening long. To this day, I continue to receive compliments on our band. If you are near the Philadelphia/Delaware/NJ area and in the market for a band- they are it.

Hair & Makeup: Robert Cris Salon and Houpette did a fabulous job. I was pretty nervous about wedding hair + makeup and one of my biggest fears was having on too much makeup and not feeling like myself. Lizzie at Houpette is such a talented makeup artist and I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Dress + accessories: Jim Hjelm lace dress, Ippolita clear quartz earrings and Etsy hairpiece. Tuxedo is J.Crew Ludlow.

I still cannot get over how fast everything went, but putting this post together made me relive the night all over again. The best part is, I wouldn't change a single thing.
