new life for an old dress
I'm in the process of doing a hardcore closet re-haul. I haven't physically done anything yet, but it's going to happen soon. This means that in the near future (fingers crossed), I will have a "Shop My Closet" link. There are some real treats I have stashed away in my closet that either no longer fit or I was just too ambitious thinking I would wear a 5 inch heel. I promise, there will be some real deals goin on over here.

So, this post was created because I mentally pictured this green Ya Los Angeles Dress (yes, not a skirt) eventually going into the "Shop My Closet" pile. The only reason for wanting to get rid of this dress is the cap sleeves. Right now, I'm really into tops, tees, and blouses with a longer sleeve and I'm starting to move away from anything with a cap sleeve. Maybe it's a phase, who knows.

Before I banished this dress from my mind forever, I remembered the grey honeycomb +Madewell sweater that I bought a few years ago. The shape of the sweater is great and works with basically everything I own, including over this dress. What was once a dress doomed for resale is now moving up in the world and right to the front of my closet.
Sweater: Madewell (similar)
Dress: Ya Los Angeles (see my Facebook page for pics of the dress and how I layered it)
Boots: L.A.M.B
Bag: J. Crew Edie Purse (similar)
Sunglasses: Gucci Cat Eye
Watch: c/o Timex
Bracelet: John Hardy (similar)

Shop sweaters that save old dresses!

Love it! Can never gone wrong with a Madewell sweater, right? And I need to steal those booties. Thanks.

I really love how "strong" all of these pieces are! And I also am in the middle of a major overhaul, so nice to pull the "iffy" items to the front of your closet and see if they really get worn or not. I think this dress/skirt should stay… just sayin' :)
