Bloggers Who Budget: Winter Layers

Monday, February 17, 2014

For this month's Bloggers Who Budget Collab, we decided to focus on winter layering and keep the major piece to $50 or under. Layering is my jam and I always have my eyes peeled for another top or sweater that I can wear year round. Cue the Madewell sleeveless chambray shirt.

I snagged this during a Madewell sale a few months ago for around $30. Sometimes it gets tricky layering with too many long sleeves because before you know it, you have that unwanted bunching effect going on. No bueno.

I wore my sleeveless chambray shirt over, you guessed it, my favorite J.Crew tissue tee. The BB Dakota cardigan (a few years old) has a great print and works well with chambray. It wasn't cold enough to need a jacket the day we took these, but any oversized camel colored coat would look amazing.

My sleeveless chambray shirt is sold out, but this MiH sleeveless chambray on ASOS is similar and on sale for $56. Sleeveless shirts are so easy to forget about in the colder months, but are one of my favorite ways to add layers in the winter.
{J.Crew tissue tee, Madewell sleeveless chambray shirt (sold out), BB Dakota cardigan, J.Crew pixie pant, Pied Juste zip boots (bought last year-no longer available), vintage Coach bag, Ippolita bangle, John Hardy bracelet, Timex watch c/o, Gucci cat eye sunglasses}

What's your favorite way to layer in the winter?

I love this look, as always. And totally agree with the sleeveless shirt thing. It's like wearing a vest instead of a coat. Keep your core warm and you whole body is warm.
