I want to start 2015 off with a few photos from our honeymoon to French Polynesia. This past November, we spent 10 days in French Polynesia (5 nights in Moorea and 5 nights in Bora Bora). It was the trip of a lifetime and if you are thinking about it, I hope these photos push you over the edge to make the trip happen. The photos below are all from Moorea and on Wednesday I'll share my favorites from Bora Bora. Enjoy!
Ferry ride from Papeete (capital of French Polynesia) to Moorea
After landing in Papeete (8 hour flight from L.A.), we jumped on a ferry over to Moorea (~30 mins or so). French Polynesia is without a doubt the most out-of-this-world place I have ever been. There are mountain peaks surrounded by lagoons and picturesque over-the-water bungalows in every direction. We stayed at the Intercontinental in Moorea and spent most of our time lounging by the water and exploring the Island.
We spent half a day on a jeep tour to hike Magic Mountain and explore the Island on wheels. The jeep ride up the mountain was beyond treacherous, but the view justified risking our lives to get up there. We also hit one of the Island's pineapple plantations, toured Cook's Bay, and saw ancient ruins. Not your average Tuesday.
These love locks were hanging on a small overlook facing Magic Mountain (reminds me of Pont des Arts in Paris)
Moorea has a small island feel and rustic charm that we absolutely loved. If you go, you cannot miss Snack Mahana for lunch. The fresh fish is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect for a chill meal looking over the lagoon (cash only). Our favorite meal on Moorea was at Mayflower. It felt like a romantic restaurant in Paris located in paradise. The food and wine were amazing and it was filled with locals (all French speaking). We sat for hours drinking wine, people watching, and trying to soak up some French. It's a long way to get here, but worth every single shuttle, ferry ride, and flight.

See you on Wednesday,
